A Star is Born

'I, Jesus, have sent my angel to testify to these things to the Churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, the bright Morning Star.'
Revelation 22:16

Description

A man was having lunch with his cousin, our Ambassador to Georgia, at his residence in Tbilisi. There he met a Georgian neighbour who told him this story: “I was a communist atheist, nuclear physicist in the space programme in the Soviet Union. I looked at all the stars in the universe and saw that they were dead. They had no life as we know it. I contrasted this with the millions of organisms, insects, birds, fish, flowers and all the beauty of Planet Earth.

As a scientist I knew, if I was honest, that there must be a Creator. So I went to Church to look for Him and I found Him. I became a Christian. Then one day an Angel appeared to me and said. ‘You are to be a Priest!’ He shrugged his shoulders at the absurdity that God should choose a former atheist. ‘So I became a Priest.’ He is now Father Zachariah in the Georgian Orthodox Church in Tbilisi, Georgia.

‘For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. Ever since the creation of the world His eternal power and divine nature, invisible though they are, have been understood and seen through the things He has made. So they are without excuse;’
Romans 1:19-20
