Waiting on God

I have long known of Andrew Murray (1828-1917) as an inspired Dutch Reformed Church Missionary and author in South Africa. But it is my sadness that, after fifty years as a Christian, I have only just read Waiting on God. It concentrates the mind! It reveals that we are helpless and that God is our source. If we want to have Christ formed in us, and if we want to walk as Jesus walked, then Andrew Murray has some good advice for us. ‘Wait on God!’ Abraham waited; Joseph waited; Hannah waited; Jesus, our Bridegroom, has waited 2000 years for His marriage Banquet. It is worth waiting! So I hope these notes, with some contemporary comments, will be a help to any reader and encourage them to buy the book. It will be a blessing. Providentially, the article by Scott Hubbard came to my attention. It seemed to be a perfect match to the words of Andrew Murray. Be encouraged!

Wake Up!

Chris Hill, a former Principal of a Theological College, has written:

Emile-Andre Vanbeckevoort and Arno Lamm have rendered us an enormous service in producing a magnificent book to prepare the Church for the last of the Last Days. “Wake Up!” is aptly named because this is precisely the effect it had on me!  The book is written for the intelligent layman and so it is far from simplistic and yet arguments are carried through with a clarity and depth that has tremendous impact.

A book of over 545 pages takes a bit of assimilating!  So I for one am immensely grateful to John Wright for producing a Précis of the book - the concise edition of “Wake Up!”   John’s intention is that his Précis should act as an appetiser for the larger work.  He achieves that aim.  My strong advice is "Buy both … and be twice blessed!”

The Road to Antioch

Fifty stories to encourage Christians in the drama of the Last Days, reminding them to hang on in every battle of faith and to waste no opportunity to pass on the Good News.

‘They shall be mine, sayeth the Lord of Hosts, my special possession on the day when I act, and I will spare them as Parents spare their children who serve them. Then once more you shall see the difference between the righteous and the wicked, between one who serves God and one who does not serve Him.’ - Malachi 3:17-18
